Mrs. Shea- Artistic Director

Mrs. Shea- Artistic Director

Since being raised attending rehearsals, tech weeks, and performances- it's only fitting that Shea found her passionate career in helping other children do the same.  Shea has spent the last 7 years running the DPAC program here in Spring, TX, prior to that she ran DPAC in it's original birthplace of Durango, Co for 4 years; but was an instructor there for many years before that--along side Denise Hagemeister, the original founder, (and her mother) of DPAC. She has also choreographed for Merely Players in Durango, Co, and directed for Hollywood Kids Academy in Las Vegas NV and Colorado Academy of the Arts in Fort Collins, CO. Shea has directed a collective 26 years in many different roles. The "bug" is embedded deep in her blood.  She studied Music Education at Colorado State University and Theater Education at the University of Northern Colorado.
When she is not teaching theater arts to other children, you can find her at home creating all kinds of shenanigans with her 5 daughters, 1 son-in-law,  2 dogs and husband.  Shea also has an exteme obsession with water, frosted cookies, and rainbow sprinkles.
Shea's passion for helping children find their space in their world through creativity is the reason she sacrifices thousands of hours and innumerable nights to rehearsals.

Mr. Jon- Acting Director

Mr. Jon- Acting Director

Jon has long appreciated the intimacy of the theater and the powerful storytelling that can occur there.  His first experience being on stage was in a middle school production of “Arsenic and Old Lace”.  According to the director, Jon was cast as the evil brother because he looked the most like Boris Karloff of anyone in school.  On the heels of that triumph followed a period of 30 years’ retirement from the stage, during which Jon pursued an education in economics and the practice of law, a hobby in which he still dabbles.

As a director, Jon loves chasing the “magic of the theater”, that moment when he gets goosebumps or laughs from the delivery of a line or an interaction on stage, despite having read and seen it a hundred times before.  That constant newness of live performance is the lightning in the bottle that we are trying to give to the audience.

When not at the theater, you may find Jon wandering around in some random European city.

Jennie Strader caught the acting bug years ago when she was a shy, awkward kid and found her voice on the stage. She went on to major in Theater Arts in college and has been in many productions through the years. She has also taught children’s community theater classes in Boise, Idaho. During college, she and her husband served up dinner and laughs while they worked together at a dinner theater. But her favorite acting gig of all, has been as a mom pulling shenanigans and reading stories to her 6 children using
